Stupidity rocks!

In Honor of Stupid People

In case you needed further proof that the human race is doomed to stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods:

On a Sears hairdryer -- Do not use while sleeping.
(Shoot, and that's the only time I have to work on my hair.)

On a bag of Fritos -- You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(the shoplifter special)?

On a bar of Dial soap -- "Directions: Use like regular soap,"
(and that would be how???....)

On some Swanson frozen dinners -- "Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(but, it's "just" a suggestion).

On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom) -- "Do not turn upside down."
(well...duh, a bit late, huh)!

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding -- "Product will be hot after heating."
(...and you thought????...)

On packaging for a Rowena iron -- "Do not iron clothes on body."
(but wouldn't this save me more time)?

On Boot's Children Cough Medicine -- "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication."
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5-year-olds with head-colds off those forklifts.)

On Nytol Sleep Aid -- "Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(and...I'm taking this because???....)

On most brands of Christmas lights -- "For indoor or outdoor use only."
(as opposed to...what)?

On a Japanese food processor -- "Not to be used for the other use."
(now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious)

On Sainsbury's peanuts -- "Warning: contains nuts."
(talk about a news flash)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts -- "Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."
(Step 3: maybe, ooh...fly Delta?)

On a child's Superman costume -- "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."
(I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for this one.)

On a Swedish chainsaw -- "Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals."
(Oh my ..was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)

Now that you've smiled at least once, it's your turn to spread the stupidity.

I don't want to be just friends...

10th grade

As I sat there in English class, I stared at the girl next to me. She was my so called "best friend". I stared at her long, silky hair, and wished she was mine. But she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it. After class, she walked up to me and asked me for the notes she had missed the day before and handed them to her. She said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I wanted to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

11th grade
The phone rang. On the other end, it was her. She was in tears, mumbling on and on about how her love had broke her heart. She asked me to come over because she didn't want to be alone, so I did. As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her soft eyes, wishing she was mine. After 2 hours, one Drew Barrymore movie, and three bags of chips, she decided to go to sleep. She looked at me, said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Senior year

The day before prom she walked to my locker. My date is sick" she said; he's not going to go well, I didn't have a date, and in 7th grade, we made a promise that if neither of us had dates, we would go together just as "best friends". So we did. Prom night, after everything was over, I was standing at her front door step. I stared at her as she smiled at me and stared at me with her crystal eyes. I want her to be mine, but she isn't think of me like that, and I know it. Then she said "I had the best time, thanks!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Graduation Day
A day passed, then a week, then a month. Before I could blink, it was graduation day. I watched as her perfect body floated like an angel up on stage to get her diploma. I wanted her to be mine, but she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it. Before everyone went home, she came to me in her smock and hat, and cried as I hugged her. Then she lifted her head from my shoulder and said, "you're my best friend, thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.
A Few Years Later
Now I sit in the pews of the church. That girl is getting married now. I watched her say "I do" and drive off to her new life, married to another man. I wanted her to be mine, but she didn't see me like that, and I knew it. But before she drove away, she came to me and said "you came!". She said "thanks" and kissed me on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Funeral
Years passed, I looked down at the coffin of a girl who used to be my "best friend". At the service, they read a diary entry she had wrote in her high school years. This is what it read: I stare at him wishing he was mine, but he doesn't notice me like that, and I know it. I want to tell him, I want him to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love him but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why. I wish he would tell me he loved me! `I wish I did too...` I thought to my self, and I cried.

):
So did she stop loving him before she get married?
Or was she still madly in love with him, but just another classic case of accepting someone who loves you instead of pursuing someone you love.

To have your personal diary being read out during your funeral is scary. How did the husband feel? Knowing that your wife loves someone else only after she is dead.. sad isn't it? ):

can't really cope with german. ):

German tutorial ONE!
the one hour of German tutorial went at bullet train speed.
ok, not that exaggerated, but it probably went at NEL MRT train speed?
):
sad.

i really need to buck up.
normal conversational: name, komme, wohne, woher i can catch.
But a little variation to the way of asking, i catch no balls!
): maybe catch only 1/2 ball.

my tutor, a pure German) prefers using German throughout the whole lesson. ):
haiz. good la, practice my listening skills, but not much time to note down things though.
at the same time, i am trying to answer her in German too.
yeah, but my German capacity is just a few drops of water!
rahhs. ):
but i give myself a pat on the shoulder for being able to ask and understand questions in German la.

haiya, but overall it sucks still.
How to go Germany like that? ):

save me people.
save me.

this it is just German.
i believe i can one lo.
i am so going put more time into it.
provided that i have enough time lo. ):

When I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things And then I don't feel so bad

i like this song so. especially when Connie sings it.
she is so adorable!
no matter what happens, keep this in mind: When I'm feeling sad I simply remember my favorite things And then I don't feel so bad :D it works for me!

i'm telling myself i must hang in there.

no i can't give up.
not at this point in time.
it is too early to give up.
and i will never give up. ):
hopefully things will turn out to be better.

madly rushy and longy thurs. ):

thurs,
the latest day i end school.
i am glad i pulled through.
and i believe that i can pull through for the rest of the semesters.

First, German lecture. (LAG1201)
Frau Chen went damn fast today!
there was not enough time to copy down things.
so i took my camera out and snapped it. :D
haha. sounds like some kiasu singaporean.
yeah i am. i am trying my best to be la.
i have several Fun and nice people in my lecture group!
haha! really enjoy the group sessions with them lo! :D
but pace of lesson is really too fast for me to catch up!
i need to buck up liao. revision is really insufficient.

rushed over to Cm1101 lecture straight after german.
found a less crowded, but long and tedious road from AS4 to the central library bus stop.

took the same shuttle bus with mary!
had some small talk with her on the bus.
we were busy balancing ourselves while conversing.
mary was standing at the edge of the steps, and i was standing right beside the driver.
i think i was obstructing him changing his gear.
he sucks la.
kept on grumbling.
rahhs.
anyway, nice to have company on a crowded shuttle bus.
takes your mind off those bumpy and uncomfortable squeeziness on the bus.

CM1101. (:
as usual, Dr Battens crack some lame jokes!
somwthing about by convention electrons are drawn to point up instead of down as up means heaven, and down means hell. Hell- bad omen!
there was something else also.
quite a few, but my tiny brain can't recall all.

after lecture, we sat in the LT for quite some time.
waited for my CM1101 textbook seller!
got the university by peter siska at $30.
(:
still looks new, just that its not wrapped. i am so gonna wrap it!
and after using it! i am going to sell it!
wahaha!

then, CM1111 lab.
i was late.
when to the CM1101 location.
shit man. how blur can i get right?
sucks la.
anyway, lab was ok.
just simple titration.
was pretty blur initially due to lack of practice.
but the seniors around were nice!
they are helpful people!
so fret not, just ask them if you have any questions. (:
and the guy sitting beside me is helpful too.
as i went in late, i kept on asking him about where to get things and stuff.
he was nice enough not to feel irritated at me!
we compared results after that, got almost the same results la.
so my titration skills aren't that bad afterall :D
all thanks to TK! I used to get full marks for titration one hor! :D

after lab, went down to meet another textbook seller for my another textbook.
the textbook is for next semester,CM1161.
haha. applied chem text.
i know la. i kiasu.
but i have learnt my lesson.
i am buying the textbook to keep.
at least demand for this textbook now is still low.
so prices are relatively fine also.
got it for $31.
haha. supposed to be $30, but since she only has $19 change, then i closed one eye lo. (:

took shuttle bus to Central library.
didn't want to take 95 from science.
it is really cant make it one!
when i alight, i met kelvyn!
he was going for the TANGS bazaar.
and he asked me to join him.
so we shopped there for a while.
returned with 4 Ritter Sport! :D
yummylicious!
kel let me into the secret of consuming Ritter Sport!
its damn cool la! have yet to try it though. :D
anyway, Ritter Sport is 4 for $11.
means 1 for 2.75!
cheap sia!
there were also sales of MAC comestics, bras, briefs, adidas stuff, shoes, puma stuff, alot of other tibits.
the MAC comestics are tempting!
but i just bought stuff from Robinsons yesterday.
Robinsons having 20% discount these few days!

After that, finally its time to go home!
:D
went home with dear dear. :)
we were on this super empty train la!
there were seats! :D
no need to stand with my two thick textbooks!
dear received 2 Ritter Sport chocolates!
one is for his birthday gift and another is to thank him for the umbrella! :D hehe (:
and he is very greedy lo. he wanted all 4 Ritter Sport! :P
NO WAY! i love schokolade! :D

Tschüss und Gute Nacht!
(Bye and Good Night!)

oh, by the way, thurs is also the no lunch day. ):
i had two chicken pau since 7am till 5pm.

people who have impacted my life..

here are some random pictures found in my computer..
they are people who played a rather BIG role in my life!
Enjoy!
I am too lazy to caption them. shall add those captions some time later ba. :D

Transforming English to German!

The European Union commissioners have announced that agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short).

In the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c". Sertainly, sivil servants will resieve this news with joy.

Also, the hard "c" will be replaced with "k". Not only will this klear up konfusion, but typewriters kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced by "f". This will make words like "fotograf" 20 per sent shorter.

In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent "e"s in the languag is disgrasful, and they would go.

By the fourth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" by "z" and "w" by " v".

During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou", and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst place....

yes, this is what I am learning now. Welcome to the World in German.
In fact, I really find German easier to spell and pronounce.
Though the constructing of sentences and the different forms in verbs, nouns, the female and male forms of words, the combining of Nouns can get me pretty confused at times...
I still love German.
I think it is easy to spell.
ok, i shall take back my words on what i said of German's pronunciation.
Wait till I can speak fluently, then i will put those words back.

NTU, NUS, SMU, SIM? too boring?

Thinking of something better and much more innovative?
Submit a new name for Singapore's publicly-funded university that will open in 2011

"Suggested names should be befitting of a premier educational institution in Singapore, and could reflect the qualities we hope to see in the new university and its students."

Closing date is on my BIRTHDAY!
*30 NOVEMBER 2008!!*
must remember ok?
remember to buy my present! (:
Danke!(Thank you!)

What i learnt in SSA2204 today. in my modest opinion. please do not jump to conclusions.

This most interesting lecture so far for this module that truly engaged me in reflecting on the historical backgrounds of the different groups on this small island.

It sets me thinking.
Pondering why is there this exclusive group of people on the red dot that is not included in history but are included in our "collective groups"?

You have heard of Chinese Riots, Sook Ching Operation during the Japanese Occupation.
Lim Bo Seng, Tan Lark Sai(HAHA!! his name sounds very funny!), Tan Kah Kee, all our chinese national heroes.

Malay Regiment also during the Japanese Occupation.
Adnan Saidi, our malay national hero.

Eurasians, as red dot was under colonial rule.
and Stamford Raffles being made the founder of red dot.

But since when did this exclusive group of people appear and set their roots in red dot?

How about their contribution towards independence in the island and Nation building?

So why does the War memorial has 4 pillars instead of 3?
How did LKY come up with the idea that these are the 4 groups to be included instead of 3?
Why can't this exclusive group be included in the others group?

i still can't figure it out.
hopefully the subsequent lectures will be helpful in solving my puzzles.

What i have written above is in my modest opinion. please do not jump to conclusions.

NUS CORS survey

just completed the CORS survey.
Have you done yours?
if not go do the survey now!
Its a good way to get extra bidding points.
is this also the only way?
eh.. i think so ba, so far i have only heard of this method.

anyway, its simple, just go into the CORS website and scroll down.
Click on the CORS survey link, then you will be asked to sign in.
REMEMBER to SIGN IN!
if not the CORS system will not be able to credit the bid points into your account.

there will be 27 questions i think.
I can't remember la, but i think so.
I was too focussed on answering the question truthfully.
yes, really truthfully and bluntly.
haha. I typed extremely vigorously in the parts where they asked for feedback regarding the tutorial balloting.
other than that, I am fine with the other things la.
I have to admit that i am pleased with the efficiency of my appeals. :D
However, in one part of the survey there is this question about the hotline thing.
and i have never called the hotline before so how would I know right?
there is an option - not applicable,
and i put that for all the hotline questions, but i couldn't get to the next question, so i merely tikamed my choices regarding the hotline.
i bet the survey results will be damn inaccurate la.
Tell me how many kiasu people has actually called the CORS hotline?

I think CORS is quite smart huh.
by awarding bid points, there is an incentive for students to hel them do the survey.
not bad. :D
It works for Singaporeans.
They need incentives to be motivated.

Kesleen you should stop changing your blog!

Kesleen yeo fooling!
my dearest saggy oops, i mean saggi bud,
i finally relinked your blog.
i really really think that its time you stop changing your blogs or locking or deleting or doing whatsoever things to your blog.
do you know that you are doing a truckload of injustice to your loyal blog readers like me! :P

really just stop it.
it is irritating!

on a side note, why are you http://mur-c.blogspot.com/?
why the mur-c huh?
shouldn't you be Ritter Sport!
Stef, you and my favourite $2.95 Schokolade! haha!
you guys must be kena influenced by your dearest, non-saggy, oops, i mean saggi bud, Joan Neo Lazy!
German rocks my socks yeah!

heh. suddenly feel like posting our photo here...
nostalgic feelings return whenever i see it.
we look so innocent in there..
what has become of us?
what has NUS done to us?
what has xxx, booze, partying, clubbing, pubbing etc etc etc done to us?
but we the saggi buds vow to never ever touch genting!
hehe (: our secret code word!
:D

i wanted to write "i miss you" but i don't feel like :P
cos i see you in school everyday ma!
i sorta miss infant a little... sshhh... don't let her know, if not she will yaya papaya de!
alrights, i think this is a totally utterly randomly post.
must be the effect of late nightssss, cough, drugs, tutorials, lectures, hongkongies, and NUS.
gonna sleep soon! if not you will start laughing at my eyebags and terrible dark eye circles. ):
rahhs... i shall laugh at your ahzema! (sic) HAHA!

Join the Wii Dishwashing Fever!

does it makes your desire to get a Wii even stronger?

iPhone frantics singaporeans should read this!

Singapore Gets IPhone, but No Visual Voicemail or ITunes

Sumner Lemon, IDG News Service

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) will start sales of Apple's iPhone 3G handset at midnight tonight local time but users who buy the phones won't get support for visual voicemail or access to videos and music sold on the iTunes Store.

"On launch, customers will not be able to buy content from the iTunes store. However, they will be able to buy applications from the Apple application store," SingTel said, adding that visual voicemail will not be offered in Singapore.

The iPhone 3G will be available for free to Singaporean customers who sign a two-year contract that costs S$205 (US$145) per month, including 1,500 minutes of outgoing talk time and 3G bytes of data access. The cheapest plan for new subscribers costs S$348 for the 8G-byte iPhone 3G and S$508 for the 16G-byte model, and requires them to sign a two-year contract that costs S$56 per month and includes 200 minutes of outgoing talk time and 1G byte of data.

The operator did not offer an explanation for why visual voicemail, one of the iPhone 3G's standout features, will not be offered. A Singaporean version of the iTunes Store has never been offered by Apple despite the popularity of the iPod and other products here, likely a reflection of the Southeast Asian city-state's small population of 4.5 million people.

The iPhone 3G handsets that will go on sale in Singapore appear to be unlocked, and could be used with networks belonging to other local operators. "It may work but you may not enjoy the same iPhone experience as SingTel only supports iPhone 3G devices that are connected to SingTel's network," the operator said, without specifying what specific advantage its own network will offer over others.

Although the iPhone 3G is already available in 22 countries, SingTel hopes to recreate the media attention that followed the handset's July launch in the U.S. An invitation sent out to reporters invited them to a "special launch ceremony," to be held at midnight tonight and attended by the operator's top executives, that will include the first local sale of an iPhone 3G.

Such ceremonies have become a common occurrence when the iPhone 3G is launched, being repeated in several different markets where these events brought out local Apple enthusiasts as well as media.

Source

know what to expect.
this is not gonna be as fantastic as what Steve Jobs has described.

MA1421 is an easy module! I am loving NUS (not...)! :D

you can call me crazy, but i think i really love university maths!
Especially MA1421!
(Or Probably its because I am only taking MA1421!)

I think it is really easy!
maybe it is not really really extremely easy, but i think it is relatively easier as compared to other modules that I am currently taking.
I think this is the only module that i truly understand and is able to complete my tutorials dutifully. (at least for now, i think so.. and not that i have done my tutorials la..)

I am feeling slightly guilty for falling asleep for this Tuesday's lesson.
however, it is not entirely my fault also; i was on drugs that day. ):
Anyway, I am not gonna ever fall asleep in any maths lecture ever again!
'Cause I think the lecturer Chew Tuan Seng seriously rocks la!
He seems like a fatherly figure to me!
but the best part is he uploads every single of his lecture notes after every lecture.
literally after, within 2 to 3 days the lecture notes will be up!
Fast and efficient!
although it sorta encourages people not to attend lessons..haha..but i can refer to them if i ever fall asleep again or if i miss certain parts of the lecture ma.
uploading the lecture notes efficiently is damn a lot better than some lecturers who take ages to upload a certain pretty blank lecture notes.
oh, I am referring to SSA2204 lecturer.
kesleen, agree?
The lecture is on tuesday afternoon.
and the lecture notes will only be uploaded on monday late afternoon or night.
rahhs. must be poor planning la.

I am surviving in my other modules.
Surviving but not really very alive at the moment.

German (LAG1201) is good!
fun!
my lecturer is a Taiwanese, (yeah not a German),
but looking on the brighter side, she will understand us better as we are all asians and just started out on the language.
Previously, for the past 3 lectures, the pace was rather fine, i can catch up.
however, for today's lecture, i feel that she suddenly swped up quite a bit.
try hard to catch up.
and my ability to write and spell german words is confirm better than my ability to speak them.
And to all my friends, i know i like to use some weird words in front of you that sounds like broken English, but those are actually German.
(I feel that i am born to speak German man! :P detect the underlying meaning.)
Nevertheless, learning a completely new language from scratch is tough, so perseverance is power.

CM1101 is not bad too!
I like the lecturer, Bettens!
a very humorous ang moh!
today he was saying that the ring around the 3dz orbitals look like the donut around his stomach!
wahahahaha! one funny guy!
the lecture is fun, sounds like some storytelling lectures.
He seems to be always talking what some dead scientist have found,
and he sorta have something against those scientists that have gotten the nobel prize award.
He is damn sarcastic whenever he mention about them.
the analogys that he gives are understandable and must learning an easy pizy journey for most.
yet, up till now, i still can't figure out what is the relationship between the lecture and the Mass tutorial 1.
the link is vague. Mass tutorial 1 is something like Maths and logic, not so much of chemistry.
haha. :D

lastly, the one that i dred the most.
CM1111! ):
sadly, the hong kongie doesn't appeal to me.
his looks doesn't appeal to me,
his voice is worse.
his scolding tone is exactly the same as his talking and every other tone.
Kes and I didn't even know that he was angry la! :P
his favourite action is to sweep his hair with his hand,
he loves to cough, (i heard from my seniors that he is forever coughing..)
he speaks in an accent that is worse than Russell Peters',
he never fails to scare his students with extremely loud sounds for instance,
dropping the mic,
blasting the irritating windows XP shut down sound into our ears etc...
haiz.. i don't know what else to say la.
he impression of him is really bad liao.
and sitting in his lecture is scary.(other than the loud noises thing.)
he loves to ask his students random questions,
really random, even if you are nerdy enough to read and analyse every single word of your lecture notes, you may not know the answer to the question.
in the first lecture, he asked, "where do grass(glass) comes from?"
and kesleen wanted to answer that, "grass cannot come from one, it needs to be grown!"
oh! he always does this thing which i really cant stand it!
He loves to use the OHP in the middle of his powerpoint slides.
I have absolutely no problem with him screening on the OHP,
but i have a problem with the procedures of how he does it!
normally people will just right click and change the powerpoint slide to a black screen right?
but he doesn't!
he would end his power point slide, then scroll all the way down to the last powerpoint slide that he prepared, which is always a black screen!!
wah!! seriuosly lo! waste of time!
really feel like teaching him how to make full use of powerpoint capabilities!

haiya.. roughly, that is what my school life and how am i coping with my modules la.
fret not, I am still surviving though. :D
Alles Gute!

P.S. my timetable is nicely and beautifully planned! :D
all my appeals were successful! woohoo! :D
iPhone will be here in Singapore tomorrow (or rather midnight today.)!
how i wish i can have one by tommorow.
Please anyone?

Why should wedding rings be worn on the fourth finger?

Have you ever wondered why are wedding rings always worn on the fourth finger?
I did a search, and the theory and explanation turned out to be a very fascinating one!
In fact this theory was derived by the Chinese!

http://www.voices.com/blog/uploaded_images/wedding-ring-711924.jpg

* Thumb represents your Parents
* Index finger (second one) represents your Siblings
* Middle finger represents yourelf
* Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
* Little finger (pinkie) represents your children

Firstly, position your palms and middle fingers like this:

Now, try to separate your thumbs.
They represent your parents.
They will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers.
They represent your siblings.
They will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers which represents your children. They will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers. they represent your spouse.
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT separate them!!
because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!!

interesting isn't it?

here is a video, with a robotic dictation of how to perform the whole experiment!

Michael Buble - Home (Boyce Avenue)

I love them! :D

my phones wishlist..

oh my god!
I so wan this la!
a lime green iPhone!
i want my MacBook Pro in lime green too!
iPhone_colors_1.jpgWAIT but look at this!!
If iPhone can be like that it would be BEST! :D

look at the number of designs they have!

60 things most girls don't know but they SHOULD know!

I would like to share this with everyone:

60 things most girls don't know!

It is a little lengthy but do take some time to read it. Some of it are really true and worth pondering over. some are quite rubbish-y. probably it depends on the maturity level of the guy too. :D

Enjoy!

  1. "Hey, are you busy?" or "Are you doing something?" ~ two phrases guys open with to stop from stammering on the phone.
  2. Guys may be flirting around all day but before they go to sleep, they always think about the girl they truly care about.
  3. Before they call, guys try to plan out a little about what they're gonna say so there aren't awkward pauses, but once he's on the phone he forgets it all and makes it up as he goes.
  4. Guys go crazy over a girl's smile.
  5. Guys will do anything just to get you to notice him.
  6. Guys hate it when you talk about your ex-boyfriend or ex love-interest. Unless they're going for the let-her-complain-to-you-and-then-have-her-realize-how-wonderful-and-nice-you-are method.
  7. A guy who likes you wants to be the only guy you talk to.
  8. Boyfriends need to be reassured often that they're still loved.
  9. Don't talk about your guy friends to your boyfriend.
  10. Guys get jealous easily.
  11. Guys are more emotional than they'd like people to think.
  12. Giving a guy a hanging message like "You know what?!..uh...nevermind.." would make him jump to a conclusion that is far from what you are thinking. And he'll assume he did something wrong and he'll obsess about it trying to figure it out.
  13. Guys are good flatterers when courting but they usually stammer when they talk to a girl they really like.
  14. Guys hate asking parents for money to buy girls presents. So they come up with ideas like saving their lunch money for a week. But it never works because guys are always hungry so they end up asking the parents for money anyway.
  15. Girls are guys' weaknesses.
  16. Guys are very open about themselves.
  17. It's good to test a guy first before you trust him. But don't let him wait too long.
  18. Your best friend, whom your boyfriend seeks help from about his problems with you may end up being admired by your boyfriend.
  19. If a guy tells you about his problems, he just needs someone to listen to him. You don't need to give advice.
  20. A usual act that proves that the guy likes you is when he teases you.
  21. Guys love you more than you love them if they are serious in your relationships.
  22. Guys will brag about anything.
  23. Guys use words like hot or cute to describe girls. We rarely use beautiful. If a guy uses that, he likes you a whole hell of a lot.
  24. No matter how much guys talk about asses and boobs, personality is key.
  25. Guys learn from experience not from the romance books that girls read and take as their basis of experience.
  26. Guys worry about the thin line between being compassionate and being whipped.
  27. Guys think WAY too much. One small thing a girl does, even if she doesn't notice it can make the guy think about it for hours, trying to figure out what it meant.
  28. Guys seek for advice from girls not other guys. Because most guys think alike, so if one guy's confused, then we're all confused.
  29. Any guy could write out a rulebook or advice book for flirting, but no guy can write out a book about relationships.
  30. Try to be as straightforward as possible.
  31. If the guy does something stupid in front of the girl, he will think about it for the next couple days or until the next time he spends time with the girl.
  32. If a guy looks unusually calm and laid back, he's probably faking it and is spazzing inside.
  33. When a guy says he is going crazy about the girl, he really is. Guys rarely say that.
  34. When a guy asks you to leave him alone, he's just actually saying, "Please come and listen to me."
  35. Guys don't really have final decisions. If a guy starts to talk seriously, listen to him. It doesn't happen that often, so when it does, you know something's up.
  36. If your best guy friend seems to avoid you or is never around when you're with your boyfriend, he's probably jealous and likes you.
  37. When a guy tells you that you are beautiful, don't say you aren't. It makes them want to stop telling you because they don't want you to disagree with them.
  38. When a guy looks at you for longer than a second, he's definitely thinking something.
  39. Guys like femininity not feebleness.
  40. Guys don't like girls who punch harder than they do.
  41. A guy has more problems than you can see with your naked eyes.
  42. Don't be a snob. Guys can be intimidated and give up easily.
  43. Everything in moderation. Put on makeup, wear perfume. Just not too much.
  44. Guys talk about girls more than girls talk about guys.
  45. Guys hate rejection, but they hate being led on even more.
  46. If you are going to reject a guy, just do it. Don't say they are like a brother or just good friends, it just hurts even more. Tell them that you aren't interested in a relationship and they will respect you.
  47. Guys really think that girls are strange and have unpredictable decisions and are MAD confusing but somehow are drawn even more to them.
  48. A guy would give his left nut to be able to read a girl's mind for a day.
  49. No guy can handle all his problems on his own. He's just too stubborn to admit it.
  50. Not all guys are assholes. Just because ONE is a jackass doesn't mean he represents ALL of us.
  51. We don't like girls who are too skinny.
  52. We love it when girls talk about their boobs.
  53. Always make sure you know what kind of stuff your getting into before making out with a guy ...like whether it's a one time deal or not ....
  54. Believe it or not shy guys are the most easiest to talk to..it may not seem right but trust me they will start opening up like books after you just ask them questions about their lives and tell them about yours.
  55. When a guy hits your butt it means that he wants you sexually
  56. Even if they refuse it all guys are ticklish on the ribs..
  57. If it seems like he's looking at the ground, he really looking at your breasts (some of them anyways)
  58. Guys love neck rubs and if he lets you keep doing it ..it means that he really likes you or his neck really hurts...
  59. Guys will test the waters to see how far they can get with you. Even if he doesn't intend to it will happen. Know how far it is you want to let him go and he will respect that...after you let him know a couple times.
  60. When a guy sacrifices his sleep and health just to be with you, he really likes you and wants to be with you as much as possible.

jay sean- maybe. :D

[Verse 1:]
Beep Beep oh look now there goes my phone
And once again im just hoping its a text from you..mm..
It aint right read ur messages twice thrice
Four times a night its true
Everyday I patiently wait
Feeling like a fool but I do, anyway
Nothing can feel as sweet and as real
Cuz I know that I wasn't waiting in vain..

[Chorus:]
And maybe its true
Im caught up on you
Maybe there's a chance your stuck on me too
So maybe im wrong
Its all in my head
Maybe we're afraid of words we both haven't said

[Verse 2:]
Im always connected online
Looked on facebook all the time
Hoping you've Checked my profile
Just can't help wondering why,
You play it cool but,
I'm hopelessly falling for you,
Every night on the phone I'm..
In love with you, and I know you like it girl
All joking aside,
Let's see you and I
Come out and say what we're trying to hide..

heard it on kesleen's blog and i fell in love with it immediately.
not really the music, but the lyrics. :D
The power of good lyrics.

Boyce avenue! - Realise(Colbie Caillat)

Take time to realize,
That your warmth is. Crashing down on in.
Take time to realize,
That I am on your side
Didn't I, Didn't I tell you.

But I can't spell it out for you,
No it's never gonna be that simple
No I cant spell it out for you

[Chorus:]
If you just realize what I just realized,
Then we'd be perfect for each other
And will never find another
Just realized what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other now.

[V2:]
Take time to realize
Oh-oh I'm on your side
Didn't I, didn't I tell you.
Take time to realize
This all can pass you by.. Didn't I tell you

But I can't spell it out for you,
No its never gonna be that simple
No I can't spell it out for you.

[Chorus:]
If you just realized what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other
And we'll never find another
Just realized what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder if
We missed out on each other but.

[V3:]
It's not always the same
No it's never the same
If you don't feel it to.
If you meet me half way
If you would meet me half way.
It could be the same for you.

[Chorus:]
If you just realized what I just realized
Then we'd be perfect for each other
And we'll never find another
Just realized what I just realized
We'd never have to wonder
Just realized what I just realized

Oh

Missed out on each other now
Missed out on each other now

once again i cried...

after reading http://memyselfmine.blogspot.com which has moved to http://www.charleneyl.blogspot.com,
i cant help but teared once again.

my brother is right.
everyone should read it.
it make you realise how you should treasure the people around you.
it make you reflects on yourself, on your action towards others.
most importantly, it leaves you feeling sad.
it will leave you in a state of what ifs??

I hate reading it. yet, i cant resist the temptation of reading it?
Why?
What am I thinking?

life is tragic.

a short paragraph adapted from the blog...
"Tears me to see the Black Knights flying,
the guys in smart uniforms . . . .
I can't seem to find the black Knight
signatured posters you gave me
when you were helping out at the Air Show.
Sorry, i should have kept them well urgh i hate myself.
Still have the Black Knight tee you got me though.
I remembered you telling me how awesome it is to be part of it.
All the stunts name you memorised.
Your precious signatured poster by all the 5 men,
with your name on.
How proud you were then . . ."

never would i have thought that The Black Knights,
something everyone is so excited about could be heart-wrenching for someone to watch.
it hurts looking at someone, someone whom i don't even know, getting depressed by every small little things happening around her.
Albeit the simplicity in langauge,
her blog is an apt and an honest description of her feelings.

Hope that things will get much better for her.
Yet, What hurts the most was being so close.

I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don’t bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok
But that’s not what gets me

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin’ to do

It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I’m doin’ It
It’s hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I’m alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, livin’ with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken

What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do

What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do

Not seeing that loving you
That’s what I was trying to do

this song never fails to remind me of their story...

Life in NUS - Bad experience on buses.

My very first semester in NUS.
Still alive and kicking.
not bad la.

I am still rather guai overall.
attended all my lectures. haven pon any lectures yet.
just a little late for most some lectures la.
it is not that I want to be late, but I am either held up by certain things or took the wrong bus!

just like today,
I had an extremely bad Bus-ing experience.
I took another bus (200)instead of my usual one(95), thinking that since both end up at the same Kent Ridge Terminal.
yes, both do terminate at Kent Ridge Terminal,
BUT, never would i thought that bus 200 take like so damn long to get to my destination la! ):
then, i was late for my German lecture for say 8 minutes.
Luckily i didn't miss much of the lecture.

this was just my first horrible bus ride experience today.

the second one was when i left FASS building after German.
I took the wrong Shuttle Bus in the wrong direction.
In the end, I ended up at the PGP terminal.
and the best part is the bus will stop and terminates there.
even though the bus do go to science faculty after that!
):
reluctantly I got off the bus and hop onto another bus.
glad to have met taddi, and she reassured me that i am finally on the correct bus!
finally reached science faculty.
I was 20 minutes late. ):
damn sad leh.
I was late for my CM1101 Mass tutorial, and I had difficulties in doing my tutorial la!
shesh.. ):
hope that I understand the uploaded tutorial workings that I missed out on.
rahhs!
everyday thursday will be a rush for me!
Especially because my lecturer tend to let us off late and the building that the tutorial is in is on the top of the hill!!
freak la!
heh. but i enjoyed the German Lecture tremendously!
so far, it is my favourite lecture! :D
LAG1201! :D

Liyong and my sms war!

i think Liyong and I are really funny!
we were having a SMS war just now!

The story goes like this...
liyong was telling me that she is on the shuttle bus.
So me, noobie-ly messaged her that
I didn't know that Shuttle buses actually exists in NTU!
haha.
and she bragged that
NTU very big, there are ALOT of shuttle buses! Got 3 Shuttle buses!

so i was like,
oh...3 only ah, NUS has 6 shuttle buses actually, so does that mean that NUS is 2 times bigger than NTU??

next came this sms:
Rubbish. Go search online. NTU is like much much bigger than NUS! :P

and this was what i said,
No lo! NUS campus is really damn BIG hor! We still have Bukit Timah and Outram Campus!

haha. and there was no further reply.
oops! Is liyong speechless?
Maybe she is reflecting on how Joan is right, and how NTU is really smaller than NUS.

Don't be too sad liyong, face the music ba! (:

I still can't believe how lame liyong and I can get.
I guess we must be too bored le. (:
hope my smses keep you from having to ommunicate with this certain person! :D
& good luck for dance!
i promise that I will go watch your performances!

erm.. and I am wondering why did I even bother to argue with her about this?
It is not as if I give a damn about whether NUS or NTU is bigger?
I just wanted to argue with liyong!
adding some spice to her life! hehe! (:

Hitler hates Windows Vista! just like me! (:

i love it when he ended off with,
"But if you think i will ever buy another Microsoft product,
you're wrong!
I'd rather buy a Mac!"

Woohoos!

I think that whoever that came up with this is simply a genius!
go to youtube for more.
there is another one on ERP gantries! :D

updates about myself

hello everybody,
I am Joan Neo Leiqi.
Student of NUS.
in Faculty of Science, majoring in Chemistry,
hoping to get into Applied Chemistry.

Currently, the modules I am taking:
Cm1101 (essential module for a Chem Major)
CM1111 (essential module for a Chem Major)
MA1421 (Fulfills faculty requirements for Chem, or Major Requirements for Applied Chem)
SSA2204 (Fulfills SS requirements)
LAG1201 (pre-allocated by LPP. (: fulfills Breadth or even Unrestricted electives.)

anyway, for those of you who are thinking why am i taking SSA2204, which is a level 2 subject,
eh, cause i heard that its easy?!
it is just singapore history.
in short, its about japanese occupation, colonisation and independence.
simply history, (i dread history though)
but at least i studied this kinda history before.
hope that i will breeze through it.
but i doubt so la. :P
I will jiayou de! (:

For those who want to know if I am prepared?
I am very prepared!
:D
look at how many years have i been schooling?
3 years kindergarten
6 years primary school
4 years Secondary school
2 years junior college!
total of 15 years liao leh..
and finally i reach my schooling destination, which is university.
So of course i am prepared. :D
some may argue that there are differences in my previous schools and university.
yes, there is.
there is this one particularly huge difference that is disturbing me!
NO NEED TO WEAR SCHOOL UNIFORM ANYMORE!
it is indeed very disturbing you know!
everyday, wake up, must choose clothes to wear!
so stressful!
i am extremely spoilt for choice la.
i have like 14 skirts to choose from!!! :D
but not much tops la. didn't go and count though.

alrights, i shall go pack my stuff and sleep!
going to have BK breakfast with my bro before school tomorrow!

school starts at 12pm tomorrow!
yeah ma!
2 lectures till 4pm!
then home sweet home! :D

Printing notes is CHORE!

I spent the last 1 precious hour of my time trying to print 3 sets of my lecture notes beautifully.
I seriously think that I should invest a little money to buy a QUIETER and FASTER Laser printer.
The bubblejet printer lying on that dusty desk is pissing me off.
it is even older dustier than my desk.
in total, i restarted my computer 2 times in order to complete my printing.
Wasted roughly about 5 pieces of paper due to incorrect printing.
Wasted don't know how much COLOUR ink!

I think it sucks man.
Trying to get the correct orientation of the paper.
Trying to GO GREEN by printing on double page instead of single page.
(actually cause i wanted to save on the amount of weight that I have to carry around in NUS!)
Trying to print more than one powerpoint slide into a page.
haiz. I think i suck la.
I suck at printing things.
Especially printing double-sided things.
I suck at operating the damn old machine in my house.

GET ME A DAMN NEW AND AUTOMATED MACHINE PLEASE!

is there a cheap and affordable laser printer that can automatically print double sides for me?
recommend me one please.
special request: it has to be even quieter than a mouse.
Thanks!

IT Fair coming soon. (:
one more month to go!
for the time being i will just have to endure with this lousy printer.
yes, lousy printer, you SUCK! :P

random pictures that have yet to be posted! @ Paulaner BruhÓ“us

once upon a time, (18 July 2008)
i went pubbing with dawn in the afternoon at Paulaner BrÓ“uhaus!
after taking my QET, and after touring around jiawei's KR hall!
i know, WE ARE HAPPENNING! :D
oh, and we met Kelvyn on our way there,
he was having his graduation phototaking session all over Singapore!
the next stop was Mr Merlion!

the drinks we ordered:

Munich Dark (on the left)
The specialty of Munich, the Munich Dark contains 4.8% alcohol with a full body, intense malt flavour and possesses a deep, rich dark golden colour.
Munich Lager (on the right)
A bright, golden brew with a smooth taste and light hops flavor, the Munich lager contains 4.7% alcohol and has a perfectly balanced flavor.

I love the Munich Dark really a lot! muacks it man!
unique taste that lingers yet doesn't irritate.
German beers are smooth...
*nods vigorously in agreement* ahhh.. wonderful!

I am waiting patiently for October to arrive!
Simply cant wait for the Oktoberfest beer!

Shall go again for the band!
