What i learnt in SSA2204 today. in my modest opinion. please do not jump to conclusions.

This most interesting lecture so far for this module that truly engaged me in reflecting on the historical backgrounds of the different groups on this small island.

It sets me thinking.
Pondering why is there this exclusive group of people on the red dot that is not included in history but are included in our "collective groups"?

You have heard of Chinese Riots, Sook Ching Operation during the Japanese Occupation.
Lim Bo Seng, Tan Lark Sai(HAHA!! his name sounds very funny!), Tan Kah Kee, all our chinese national heroes.

Malay Regiment also during the Japanese Occupation.
Adnan Saidi, our malay national hero.

Eurasians, as red dot was under colonial rule.
and Stamford Raffles being made the founder of red dot.

But since when did this exclusive group of people appear and set their roots in red dot?

How about their contribution towards independence in the island and Nation building?

So why does the War memorial has 4 pillars instead of 3?
How did LKY come up with the idea that these are the 4 groups to be included instead of 3?
Why can't this exclusive group be included in the others group?

i still can't figure it out.
hopefully the subsequent lectures will be helpful in solving my puzzles.

What i have written above is in my modest opinion. please do not jump to conclusions.
